Fuquay-Varina Named as Safest City in North Carolina

Fuquay-Varina has proudly earned the title of North Carolina's safest city in a recent study by MoneyGeek. The town, located southwest of Raleigh, stood out among 1,000 towns, showcasing its commitment to safety and security.

MoneyGeek examined towns with populations ranging from 30,000 to 100,000, using data from 2022. The study focused on violent crime rate, property crime rate, crime cost per person, and total crime costs. It emphasized how crime impacts communities economically, affecting insurance rates for residents.


Fuquay-Varina secured the top spot by having the lowest crime-related costs among considered North Carolina cities. It boasts the lowest property crime rate, making it a standout choice for those seeking a secure living environment. The town's overall performance landed it at 56th place nationally among towns across the U.S.


With around 40,000 residents, Fuquay-Varina is one of the fastest-growing towns in the state. Its commitment to safety is evident in its low crime rates, contributing to its recognition as one of the nation's best suburbs in 2021.


Other North Carolina towns also made the list, including Apex (63), Holly Springs (67), Morrisville (153), and Huntersville (169). These towns near Raleigh and Charlotte added to North Carolina's strong representation in the national rankings.


Fuquay-Varina's recognition as the safest city in North Carolina reinforces its status as a secure and thriving community. This achievement adds to the town's appeal, drawing attention to its unique charm and dedication to residents' well-being.
